Volunteer Work
We are the leaders in volunteer placements in Ghana. We are committed to providing the best volunteer abroad programs so our volunteers can travel to Ghana with an assurance. Our volunteers will have an impactful volunteer service trips and opportunities to experience a transformational cultural immersion.
Cultural Adventure Foundation will provide 100% of support to all volunteers on the program including their safety, training and logistics required to create confidence in our volunteers on the ground.
Our Program
Our programing gives participants an opportunity to contribute meaningfully, to make sustainable impact and to learn by cultural immersion.
Participants will volunteer from Monday through to Friday each week, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will have an optional cultural and learning activity schedule to enable participants learn about the local community and also interact with the people.
Weekends are open for participants who would like to explore other parts of Ghana to have independent weekend travel.

Child Development
Volunteers will give their time working in the crèche, kindergarten and lower primary schools designing and delivering extra-curricular activities to meet the developmental goals of children in the community. Teaching of rhymes and songs, art and crafts, including physical activities. You may also support by creating educational mural on walls to further enhance learning activities for children.
Teaching Assistants
(English, Creative Arts, Mathematics and Science)
Ghana has a well-structured basic education syllabus developed for schools to use, however, its implementation varies from schools to schools and more especially schools in rural communities do not gain the full benefit.
Volunteers will help teach various subjects such as English, Mathematics, creative arts and Science from these syllabuses to primary school pupils and Junior High School students by assisting local teachers in the classroom.
Do not panic when a class is handed over to you to teach when you arrive, the Class Teacher (s) will serve as your reference point, he/she will guide you to prepare lesson plans, and will also organize periodic orientation sessions for you to facilitate your volunteering experience.
Health Volunteering
Volunteers who are qualified medical doctors, registered nurses, pharmacist, physiotherapist and etc. who would like to use their skills alongside local health workers will be placed in Health Clinics or in a district hospital after providing their credentials of qualification.
Public Health Internships
Student nurses and pre-med students will have the opportunity to intern at family and child welfare clinics at the Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) centers as well as spending time at the district hospitals observing and helping with non-clinical activities as well as shadowing Medical Doctors.
This is an opportunity to get an exposition into the public health sector in a developing country. If you are taking academic credits for it, preceptor will be arranged to support you within the facility. There will be preceptor fee. Your Program Coordinator will talk to you about this fee.
Health Education Outreach
There is a segment of Ghanaian population who have difficulties accessing basic affordable healthcare due to several reasons. Medical outreach programs is organized to provide an intervention to this group. Volunteers with medical background who will like to make a meaningful impact will work alongside a local team of experts to provide critical medical needs to the most vulnerable people in our communities. These outreach activities will include health education, health screening, diagnoses and referrals. There will be a minimum signup number of four volunteers for the outreach to be activated. The outreach activities involve additional logistical costs. Please, contact your Program Coordinator for details.
Girl Child Empowerment
Menstrual Hygiene Education & Distribution of Reusable Kits Cultural Adventure
Foundation in Collaboration with a Non-profit organization, Days for Girls have together creates program to introduce and teach basics on female health and hygiene to boys and girls in junior high schools in the Volta region of Ghana. This project has no time limit; it is designed such that it can last for a week or even longer depending on the availability of resources.
Community Development | NGO Support
Volunteers with development expertise are needed to work with Cultural Adventure Foundation to help develop numerous projects from the basis using PRA development approach; help the community with project identification, project development, project management, project monitoring & evaluation; help develop metrics and evaluation tools; help with proposal development and fund raising activities as well as implementation of projects.
